Caritas SAC Gumaca, Inc. (SAC-GUM) is a faith-based non-government organization and the service arm of the Diocese of Gumaca, which directs itself towards integral evangelization thru the promotion and implementation of projects that address issues on environment, food security, good governance, health and nutrition, and disaster preparedness.

MISSION

CARITAS SAC GUMACA, Inc. commits to:

• Help build and strengthen MSK in the Diocese

• Create and implement programs that would address the needs of the marginalized sectors especially farmers & fisherfolks

• Re-orient and expand livelihood and socio-economic program towards sustainable development;

• Discover new venues of coordination thru linkages with Government Organizations (GO’s) Non-government Organization (NGO’s) and People’s Organizations (PO’s); and

• Facilitate the creation of thru program that would address issues on environment.

PRAYER FOR PEACE

Loving God, you are the source of all things good. We pray for peace in the midst of violence and tragedy in this world. May we have the patience to be understanding, the strength to be forgiving and the grace to admit when we are wrong.

PRAYER FOR Human Trafficking

Loving God, we seek your protection for those that have been exploited and enslaved. We pray that they may be released from their chains and be empowered to restore their dignity and re-build their lives.
We pray to the Lord.
Loving God, help us to reach out to victims of slavery, human trafficking and forced labour.
May we act as a pillar of hope and support, helping them to re-build their lives in the face of tragedy.

PRAYER FOR Social Justice

Loving God, guide our hearts to stand up against the injustices of the world. Give us the courage to build your kingdom, following in Christ’s footsteps to be the voice of the voiceless, acting when there is a need.

Loving God, we are made in your image. Help us see the face of Christ in our brothers and sisters that seek refuge and asylum in our common home. May we open our borders and our hearts to those seeking shelter and security.

Objectives

1. NBP aims to serve 40 Lolas from 2023 to 2028 by providing various services in the shelter.
2. All Lolas are provided with twice-a-year medical check-ups to ensure their health needs and provided with nutritional needs as supervised by a dietician.
3. To provide various relaxation activities to all Lolas daily and have quarterly outing activities like swimming, walking/pasyal at the lake or park, etc.
4. To provide 3600 meals per year for walk-in beneficiaries at NBP.
5. To provide staff development activities/training for all staff and long-term volunteers to ensure the wellness of all staff and provide them with additional skills based on their needs.

Beneficiaries

“NAZARETH BAHAY PAG-IBIG HOME FOR THE ABANDONED ELDERLY”, gives priority to clients from the CALABARZON area, without prejudice, however, it also accepts referrals from other parts of the country as long as the elderly they are referring is abandoned or neglected and belong to the poverty threshold.
